"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement; nothing can be done without hope and confidence." -Helen Keller
I earned my BS in Multimedia and Graphic Design from Champlain College, graduating in 2005 with Summa Cum Laude honors. Upon graduation, I was hired as the Art Director for the Vermont Guardian newspaper. As the sole graphics person at a small and rapidly developing company, I was given a blank canvas, or in my case a blank InDesign document, to shape the look of the newspaper. It sounded like a daunting task for an amateur graphic designer, but I am extremely motivated and love a challenge. I strive to master technical knowledge and enjoy tackling projects with intelligence, integrity and intensity. My time spent working for the Vermont Guardian provided a solid and robust foundation for my graphic design career.

The next stop on my artistic journey was Elk Publishing where I designed a national monthly hunting and fishing magazine, Outdoors Magazine, and a Vermont bimonthly magazine, Livin' the Vermont Way. I was involved in all aspects of magazine production including designing display advertisements, working with clients on creative advertising solutions, choosing cover images, creating newsstand worthy layouts, updating websites, embracing social media outlets, designing and sending out email newsletters, maintaining monthly production schedules, and communicating deadlines to department heads and the sales team. In this position, I streamlined the production department and implemented many time-saving organizational procedures while creating strong working relationships with advertisers and photographers.
After 4 years with the publishing company, I was recruited by Lenny's Shoe & Apparel to become their Marketing Director. At this highly successful, 30 year old family-owned business, I am responsible for all aspects of marketing and advertising for six retail stores and an ecommerce web store. I manage the annual marketing budget and complete all media buying and content creation. For the brick and mortar stores, I develop and maintain the annual advertising calendar, organize in-store sales and fundraising events, and write press releases to connect with local media outlets. I design all advertising materials including newsprint ads, signage, business cards, flyers and billboards. I create television concepts, locate and outfit talent, and work with a video production team to plan television shoots and edit sessions. On the digital side, I manage an internal team and work with a web development firm to maintain robust ecommerce website. I have grown our email marketing program and target over 13,000 qualified customers with bimonthly email blasts. I manage our digital presence and utilize Google tools and social media channels including Facebook and Instagram.
I also lead the marketing and advertising team for New Balance Williston, the sister company owned by Lenny's Shoe & Apparel. I am responsible for all aspects of marketing and advertising for this locally owned brick and mortar store.

On January 1, 2021, I officially became self employed by launching Amanda Cashin Marketing. Lenny's Shoe and Apparel and New Balance Williston remain my largest clients. I am extremely happy to achieve my lifelong goal of owning and operating my own marketing business. Over a 15 year period in the marketing and graphic design field, my key strengths are my strong work ethic, time management and leadership skills. I constantly strive for improvement and maintain an optimistic attitude. At first glance, I may seem like a quiet, unassuming woman. It doesn't take long, however, before my articulate, reflective and entrepreneurial spirit are brought to light. I have designed a creative lifestyle and deliver excellence, efficiency and results on every project.
